I get a kick out of entertaining!  What I love the most is the creativity and fast paced lifestyle that is demanded from the hospitality industry.   Ever changing styles and trends in the wedding and social scenes are what I thrive on as a caterer, venue owner and food stylist.  A day in the life includes original recipe writing, cooking, recipe testing, client meetings, working fabulous events, and surrounding myself with some of the best people in Kansas City, including our Olive/Willow team, local vendors and clients.  Every day is unique.

Whether it’s writing menus, styling food, running a venue, keeping up with food and style trends, everything related to the food industry makes me feel alive...and is what I was born to do. Every event, every client is one-of- a-kind... and I love the challenge of creating an experience you’ve never experienced before.

my story

I started my professional training in 1994 at the Culinary Department of Johnson County Community College, and then apprenticed under Chefs Jennifer Maloney and Laurie Thomas at Club 427. I served as pastry chef and Sous Chef at Café Allegro, where I trained under Steve Cole. I started catering on my own in 2002, and in 2008 I opened my catering company, Olive Events Catering. In 2015, I opened The Venue at Willow Creek, Wyandotte County’s first premier event space.’s first premier event space.

Over the years, I’ve created full-service experiences for corporate parties, weddings, fundraisers, wine dinners, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs and more. I even was selected as caterer for the President of the United States in May 2008. I’m very proud of my accomplishments, but for me, my most important event is and always will be...yours. My goal is to create a signature experience that exceeds your expectations and has you and your guests saying, “wow!”
